Who would have thought we’d be back here again, and Joe Jack’s protest album from 2020 would be so incredibly relevant again? Originally released to protest Trump and celebrate a Democratic victory in 2020, it’s time to dust off Joe’s Word Salad and bring it back into the limelight, because that big orange a-hole just won’t go away.

A lovesong written to the people who fight with us and a lambasting of those who attack us, Word Salad is as witty as it is cutting, featuring Joe’s trademark brand of humorous, intelligent, folk-pop earworms. This time around we’re doing a clear 10” lathe cut version of the record cut on our two lathes, a 1937 Presto 6DSP and a 1947 Rek-O-Kut Challenger. In addition to the 10”, you can score a 7” featuring Joe’s contribution to the Mütter Museum benefit comp released in 2020, The Evolution of Disease, as well as a live bootleg of Dean’s Dream I made when I saw Joe in 2021 recorded using a 1988 PXL-2000 toy camera, straight to cassette. Here’s a neat tidbit of information: Joe originally recorded Evolution of Disease to be ON the Word Salad album, so it’s from the same recording session.

Here’s information from the original listing:

Just in time for Thanksgiving, you can bring some Word Salad to the table. Joe Jack Talcum's latest release is an EP of love ballads & protest songs, which go hand in hand in this case.

Word Salad Track List:
1: Not Dumb
2: Bubbles
3: Puzzle Piece
4: Beautiful War
5: Say Their Names
6: COVID-19 SARS CoV-2

We initially were going to release this album cassette-only (Joe Jack loves tapes - this whole album was recorded straight to cassette!), but we thought, this is a new age, why punish folks who don't have tape decks? So there's also a digital option to purchase the entire EP as one sound file, ripped directly FROM a cassette! Includes a free download of Joe Jack's cover of Ogikubo Station's Take a Piece of All That's Good, found on the split we released with Strange Parts last year.

Keep loving, keep fighting,

Joe (of T&TT) & Joe Jack
